Borderless MedDev at American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) 2025
CSO Scott Blomberg joined Dr. Mary Blomberg, pediatrician for annual event
Denver, Colorado - Borderless MedDev CSO Scott Blomberg was able to attend this year’s AAP National Conference and Exhibition which was held September 26th to 30th.
Dr. Mary Blomberg attends this conference nearly every year which gives her the opportunity to stay up to date on the latest developments in pediatric medicine and earn continuing medical education (CME) credits. This year’s sessions covered topics from nutrition to immunization/medication updates to specific medical conditions such as concussions.
Both Blombergs attended the open plenary session which featured a musical number about the APGAR score starring an actress playing Dr. Apgar. The session also featured speeches by outgoing AAP President Dr. Susan Kressly and popular social media creator, Dr. William Flanary who is better known by the name Dr. Glaucomflecken in his witty videos.
"Science must lead, not politics." Dr. Kressly said as she officially kicked off the 2025 AAP National Conference & Exhibition in Denver, Colorado. She thanked pediatricians for their unending commitment to children. "Every day you show up is a better day for kids.”
“If we can just show people what the issues are, more people are educated about U.S. health care and then we can create more momentum to change things,” Dr. Flanary said in his opening plenary speech. Dr. Glaucomflecken has over 5 million social media followers and uses his platform to encourage pediatricians and other doctors to find their own voices online to push back against misinformation.
Another highlight for Scott Blomberg was meeting Dr. Paul Offit of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Offit is a pediatrician and the inventor of the rotavirus vaccine which has been available in the US in its current form since 2006. Dr. Offit was available in the CHOP booth at the exhibition signing his latest book, Vaccines and Your Family: Separating Fact from Fiction.
